"Developing independent learners through individualized instruction."
2014-15 School Hours - 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Side Creek's field day was held on Friday, September 19th. The field day was planned for September 12th, but the weather was poor that day. Side Creek's field day was moved from the spring to the fall because of the early dismissal of school in May.
Thanks to Mrs. Zimmerman for preparing and hostessing Field Day on Friday September 19th! Many students were quoted as saying "IT IS THE BEST DAY OF THE YEAR!" We would also like to thank the MANY volunteers who made Field Day so wonderful!
This year's field day is planned for Friday, September 12th. In case of inclement weather, the date will be moved to Friday, September 19th. Kindergarten, 1st and second grades will be in the morning from 8:15 a.m. to 10:35 a.m. Third, fourth and fifth graders will have an afternoon session from 12:20 to 2:20. Parents are needed to volunteer. Please fill out the volunteer form in the Field day Flyer below.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Kindergarten officially began on August 12th at Side Creek. In order to introduce the students to the staff members and their rooms, the kinder teachers took the students on a quest to find the "Queen of the School" - the principal! Students were guided around the building to meet and watch as staff tried on the glitter slipper to find it's owner. Finally, after searching - the kindergarteners finally found Ms. Gariepy! (Students won't soon forget the staff members after seeing them all try to fit into the glittering slipper!)
This activity introduces the new students to important people around the building and makes a great beginning activity for the students. There are nearly seventy kindergarten students coming to Side Creek this year.
Student Drop Off/Pick Up Options and Procedures
The new Drop off/pick up procedures (Kiss and Go) at Side Creek worked with great success on the first week of the 2014-15 school year. Special thanks to all of our parents who followed the procedures correctly. We are pleased there were no real problems in the first week and hope to continue with the procedures throughout the school year. These procedures were drawn up with the safety of your children in mind. The links above will give you complete information as to what the procedures are, and a map showing the correct traffic pattern. Below are pictures of how the drop off/pick up procedures went in the first week of school.
