The Nutrition Services Department is pleased to announce that we are going online next school year. This is a web based process; therefore it can be done from any computer with access to internet. Parents are encouraged to begin using this service.

Thursday, May 1st will be the date of this year's Diversity Night at Side Creek. Displays will be ready for showing that evening from 5 pm to 7 pm. Each grade level will be assigned a cultural area and make a display. Cultural areas assigned this year are:
Kindergarten - Individual Personal Culture
1st grade - Mexico
2nd grade - Africa
3rd grade - Asia
4th grade - Europe
5th grade - Native Americans
Individual families are encouraged to present a display on Diversity Night. Letters will be sent home this week and Side Creek families who participate will be given a display area. Please give notice by April 15th if your family wants to present a display.
Spring - 2014
Dear Side Creek Community,
Welcome back! Hopefully you and your families were able to enjoy some time together over the Spring Break week. We are all ready to hit the ground running for the last stretch of the school year.
Beginning April 14, 4th and 5th grade students will take a new state assessment. The
Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) is the state’s large-scale assessment
designed to measure student performance in the Colorado’s Academic Standards science and social studies. The schedule is still in the works, so we will get it sent home
for 4th and 5th graders soon.
Next Coffee with the Principal is on April 9th, at 8:00. I hope to see you there!
The Side Creek Student Council will have a busy calendar of events for 2014. Student council raises money for charities and for school events like the School Dance. Below are events scheduled for the remaining school year:
Jan. 21st to Feb. 5th - Pennies for Patients fundraiser
Jan. 31st - Super Bowl Jersey Day Fundraiser
Feb. 5th - Yearbook Sales Begin
Feb. 10th to 14th - All School Spirit Week
Mar. 20th - School Dance Party Night
Flyers will be sent home explaining in detail all of these events as the time arises.

These coffees will be an informal
opportunity to hear the principal’s vision,
ask questions, hear a range of topics
specific to Side Creek, and enjoy a hot cup

month from 8:00 – 8:30 in the cafeteria.
