We would like to dedicate this “Jump Rope For Heart Event” in honor of Rich Harlow. Shay and Rich Harlow have twin girls, Madison and Brianna, which are in the 5th Grade at Side Creek. Both parents have always been extremely involved in their children’s lives at Side Creek by volunteering at the school and attending community events.

Rich had an active lifestyle and participated in several sports throughout the years. He had developed some heart issues and was diagnosed with a heart condition where he underwent several surgeries to try to help his heart. The surgeries were successful for a while but in the end his heart was just too weak. Rich ended up passing away on December 14, 2015.

We would like to honor Rich during our event because his story is what this event is all about. The family wants to spread the message that we all need to step back and make sure we are leading a healthy lifestyle every day. Our hearts need good nutrition and exercise every day to stay healthy. We need to continue to advocate for research so people with heart conditions have a better chance of surviving and beating the odds.

Please consider making a donation to the American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart Event to help in continuing research. This will also be a great way to help honor Rich and his family to hopefully help another family not feel this type of loss.
